stars, dreams, and you .
lets start this off with a quote : 'Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world... are the ones who usually do .'
Ahh, the past few months hav been a frenzied period in my life, and for some reason i have realized more about myself in the past weekend than i have in the past few months.
Lifes a trip to say the least, and after experiencing one for myself.....
I have come to understand the things which i find to be most important an beautiful in life... & how little importance we place upon them.
I had forgotten what it meant to be "satisfied."
Considering the fact that i am constantly bombared with advertising and images leading me to believe that satisfaction can only be bought.
I have been bred to have an insatiable appetite for all the wrong things .
so when does the personal rewind come ?
if that makes any at all sense.
i am so gratefu of the life i have been given.
And i truy believe that everything , no matter the circumstance, happens to us all indivually for a purpose or a reason.
while nietsczhe (sp?) and most other post modernists, and existensialists would disagree with me.
i think what happens to us happens so that other things can follow.
by mere coincidence, luck, or happening .. they occur because of us & the circumstances that surround.
and thanksfully due to the recent activity i have surrounded myself with.. while at the time seemed testing & tempermental, have manifested in me the very thing i had been missing... the very thing i had allowed myself to let go of : motivation & gratitude.
"we live like death aint a thing/fear & respect we collect like kings' & we all chase money cause we scared to chase dreams."
chase your dreams.
have gratittude, what you have today is not promised.
be thankful and live vicariously through love and your own individually and beautifully composed self.
learn. teach. understand. be empathic. be strong & remember, strength lies in your heart and mind.
have courage , and speak your mind even when your voice shakes. speak your truth.
show the orld who you are. manifest mindfulnes. be kind. love thoughtfully .
give and volunteer. do not do "charity work," do human work.
dont be an "example" just be. do things for you, and keep the grace of others in mind.
study quotes , analyze speeches.
some of the most telling things are in the middle of sentences .
create omething beutiful.
stand for something.
most of all......
be you and do you, cause nobody does it better !
peace&love...

mmm
beauty is in imperfection..
let that sink in.
Those 4 words arethe truest i've ever read.
on another note.
since reading and hearing about the much publicized rihanna/ chris brown fate case.
Of course, i had to put alittle imput into it.
not for the sake of media, and such...
but for the sake of women.
After hearing numerous stories about the domestic violence case that has shocked the nation and rocked the media, Rihanna seems to have gone back to her former boyfriend Chris Brown. Although the reports and stories of the physical and vocal altercations that took place between the couple differ variously, they all have the same theme evident: domestic violence. After keeping a slow but steady follow up through Perez Hilton, and the multiple other celebrities who have taken the liberty to speak for and on behalf of Rihanna, it is clear that this issue is much bigger than just a heated argument between two of Hollywood’s hottest lovebirds. Indeed embedded underneath the media’s coverage, and clearly evident on Rihanna’s face, is the confirmation that she like many other women in the U.S and around the world are physically abused by their husbands/ boyfriends. As a woman who holds a substantial amount of power on women across the world, as well as the youth of today, what is she telling us by showing that she has willingly gone back to Brown after the way she was treated both physically and mentally? One in five teens reports being physically or sexually abused by a partner between the ages of 16-24. Oprah Winfrey commented on the spectacle, voicing her opinion and stating that if violence has occurred once, it WILL occurr again; she recently did a special show focused on domestic violence and the physically and emotionally disturbing effects it has on the victims of it. Music is popularized in America, and taken in literal terms…so what happens when one of the biggest pop stars in America, goes back to a boyfriend who has been violent and abusive with her? It sets the idea and standard that the kind of treatment she received is acceptable. He beat her face to a pulp, and expects to be given mercy after buying her jewelry and such as both an “im guilty and sorry” gift and a “birthday gift.” Rihanna must have some kind low self respect and a crazy case of “Disturbia,” if she tolerate that kind of treatment from anyone, including the good looking Chris Brown. The looks cant heal the bruises, and the jewelry isn’t gonna mend a relationship. Like Katie Couric stated on CBS “Love isn’t supposed to hurt, except when someone breaks your heart”… not your face.

krishnamurti says
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
Can you see through the fog?
On nights like this,
the only solace i seem to find
comes from the unrequited rhythms, and beats of the one and only Miles Davis.
i sit
and sip on my chamomile tea
and stare at the screen
unaware
of anything but
these
rid-
iculous
notes swirling through the speakers into my mind.
the moon shines through my window,
upon the small of the cup
yes
its nights like these
that make
being alone
so
tantalizing..
Miles Davis never had written notes,
he played whatever note he felt like in every single song he produced.
which is why every song (even if the same) sounds a bit different.
What if.. we lived our lives the way Davis played his songs?
just
a few crazy
thoughts

>:[
Cosmogirl, Seventeen, and all other cyclo-clone teenage magazine that reciprocate and advocate the actions of a dumb ill-twitted coming of age girl (person).
As a former and guilty reader of these past time favorites, I have come to notice over the years that these eye gripping and repetitively themed magazine covers (and articles) teach nothing more to the up and coming youth of today, than how to "kiss," "secret tips to do for your crush," "is it love or just a crush?", "lipstick shades to match your mood," "slouch boots are the newest winter trend!"," wanna learn how to catch his attention & keep it?" "when to text him & when not to," "flirty texts he's dying to get." and on and on and on.
You get the point.
I should stop here and let you draw the conclusions for yourself,
but let me just give you a small bit of the ones i have drawn thus far.
Ever notice how most of the titles start with "please," "love," "make", "flirt", "kiss", "look," "hot" etc. and are followed by the word[s] "for him","with him" "to him" ?
Shouldn't all that energy spent into typing these redundant and empty articles be spent on... hmm i don't know; teaching children about the recession and current economical state that they will be handling as adults?
I mean, in the long run & in reality, what is more important... knowing how to send the perfect texts to ones crush, or learning what needs to be done in order to stablize the current physical state we are now in and facing?
They are drugging these unknowing kids with monetary things of no relevant importance!
They are setting the mental mood for/ and of the teenage youth environment & should focus rather on shifting the awareness of mental and peripheral vision towards all of these vast and coming issues we are [currently] facing.
Soon,
the horoscopes at the end of seventeen, cosmo girl, and all other magazines alike will read the same for each sign.
Dear AQUARIUS, CAPRICORN, PISCES, ARIES, TAURUS, GEMINI, LEO, LIBRA, SCORPIO, SAGITTARIUS,CANCER, VIRGO:
"disaster is in your near future. Avoid mental dullness & dreariness; Seek refuge in magazines that say something!(better yet read a book) Free Tibet! Save Darfur! save the whales! recycle!
Stop America from hanging on its hinges! Stop reading this magazine [but do recycle all the 923898 issues you currently have sitting in your closet."
and the disclaimer at the bottom will read
disclaimer: reading this magazine may cause slight brain reversal from adulthood to adolescence, to infantry.
ahh if only.

economically speaking...
not only has consumption in the U.S severely spiked during the past few years, but at this rate and amount how will we be able to contain ourselves in the years ahead, let alone find further wasteland for our toxic needs?
2 MILLION PLASTIC BOTTLES, USED ON AVERAGE EVERY FIVE MINUTES IN THE U.S

65,000 ciggarettes, which is equivalent to the number of teens getting addicted to them every month.

11,000 jet trails, which is the number of commercial flights in the U.S every 8 hours.

426,000 cell phones which is equivalent to the number of cell phones retired in the U.S everyday.

213,000 Vicodin pills, equal to the number of emergency room visits yearly in the US related to misuse or abuse of prescription pain killers.

29,569 handguns, equivalent to gun related deaths in 2004.

1.14 million paper bags, the number used in the U.S every hour.

60,000 plastic bags. the number used in the U.S every 5 seconds.

2.3 million jail uniforms, equal to the number of Americans incarcerated in 2005

106,000 aluminum cans, which is equivalent to the number of cans used by americans every 30 seonds.

15 million sheets of office paper, used in america eevry 5 minutes.

3.6 million tire valve caps, used on each new SUV in 2004

just, this
excuse the formality of this.
Its 5:10 am and my brain is wired on whatever extra energy my body
is managing to produce.
So im sitting here, after an interesting night...
cross that, an interesting YEAR.
this is my ode, to say more or less.
I have come to terms with my life as of now, and the friendships i
have built and kept on thus far.
The ones that have lasted, the ones that have passed.
The good, the bad, and the momentary.
Things change, people change, and time goes by no matter what.
I realized how ungrateful i have been about people and things in my
life..
and would like to take a moment just to appreciate what i have, who i am
and what i have been given.
And i encourage you to do the same.
(no matter the circumstances or conditions you are in, it could always be worse...
and every challenging encounter we face, is another experience and opportunity to grow
and learn.)
I feel as thought i have so much to comment on, let alone speak of,
but my brain cant seem to formulate proper sentences about each topic running through
my head.
As morning breaks, my words turn into senseless dribble.
Sleep is calling my name.
And the bed is luring me in ;)
Look, i started this off because i wanted to give an ode to friendships
but the real ones.
The ones that open your mind, envelop your soul, and expand you heart.
But i feel to tired; because if i started this ode right now,
i would have to cross examine and evaluate the reversal (the ode to fake-friendships.)
My mind is tired.
My body needs rest.
Sleep well world.
ahhhh memorable 1st blog.
This isnt the last youll hear of me.
trust.
